some jams...
But it was difficult trying to find a new tone which would fit my lax attitude. I tried digging around myspace for some new bands, but no avail. Then I discovered something that was in front of me all this time, but I hadn't looked into. iTunes carries live radio streams via the net. So I dug, and found some realllllyyy awesome music.
I am a big fan of electronic music; PVD, Tiesto, Donald Glaude and all. But this time I distinctively sought to find a new tone within the electronica genre, and this time, I found it. It is call SomaFM. They got a website, www.somafm.com and is located in the hometown of San Francisco.
SomaFM has multiple channels of different styles. I recommend you guys check it out, my favorites are "Secret Agent" and "Groove Salad." Each with their distinct flavor.
if you love the downtempo, chill out beats but still jam-able, check out the Groove Salad. But if your into literally "Mission Impossible" like beats with the trumpets and up-swing attitude, then Secret Agent is your friend.
Check it Out!

A new love...
So who is this mystery new person on the block? actually it is the new airline that I recently flew, Virgin America (VA). Yes I said it, I have fallen in love with this airline. It is in my opinion, the best and innovative airline out there to this date.
What makes VA such a great airline is through the overall refinement of the flying experience. VA effortlessly combines new technology to comfort the ever changing needs of constant fliers. I could easily link readers to the VA website for the complete list of perks VA offers, but that wouldn't justify it. A personal statement would be better.
Lets begin with the disco ball...yeah, the walkway before entering the plane has a damn disco ball hanging. What airline would want a disco ball on the ramp? VA does, and its a statement showing their the new party crew to hang out with. To accompany the disco ball, one step in I was engulfed with the "mood lighting" and subtle electronic beats flowing in the air. Boy was I ready to party!
Once situated in my seat, I didn't have to introduce myself to the screen in front of me. The red screen beckoned me to explore, and so I did. After a few quick taps, ESPN was feeding me GIANTS highlights (they lost =/ btw). A few more taps, I was listening to Jazz on their streaming radio stations. More cool points goes to the multi use controller. The front side is your standard controller to flip channels and radio stations, on the other side its your QWERTY keyboard to chat. yeah thats right, instant message a passenger on the plane. Spitting game on a airplane has gone 2.0, and it is far easier than ever before...
Cool Points for the average person:
1. Easy to use interface touch screen TV with Satellite.
2. Streaming music of all genres (e.g. Chinese/Japanese/Korean pop, Salsa)
3. Videogames! blasting mofos on oldschool DOOM is great
4. Outlet plugs - they got power and USB outlets
The best part about VA, flying as low as 40 bucks from LAX to SFO! I couldn't believe it, high perks at a low cost? My new airline. VA has set the flying standard REALLY high. I just cannot imagine what other companies are doing right now to retain its existing fan base. They better come up with something quick. My suggestion: Open bar for a set fee, health conscious food and hot flight attendants (no more old cougars!).
I might have left out some stuff, but future experiences will bring more to light. This mini review is long overdue, but I highly recommend VA to anyone who has not yet tried them out.

A busy guy now!
I just started a new job here in SoSoCal. Lemme begin first by saying that once a position is applied for in the public sector, it may take some time for them to respond to your inquiry. This is a case of how I got this job. I first applied about a year ago seeing the position open up on the city’s website (a great way to find a job) and saw a police related job. Well just a month ago, they hollered via cell and said they wanted to interview me for a new position. Heck, I was sitting at home and doing my homework part-time and kicking ass on Call of Duty part-time as well. I think I could fit in a new job. I went to the interview, impressed the hell outta them =D, went through background investigations with lightning speed, and POW I’m hired.
This position is basically support staff to officers, but not with full authority as an officer. Normal duties include: (1) filing paper work, (2) processing detainees, (3) writing reports and (4) being the first contact the public makes when entering a station. This position is called Community Service Officer (CSO). However, instead of being placed in an office, they needed another person to work in their new jail facility on the lower dungeonous level of the department. Needing a job, I whipped a big smile and took the offer. Now your boy Gary has a firm foot in the criminal justice field as a jailer!
I always told everyone that working in a prison like facility was NOT the type of branch that I was looking into. However, this is a far smaller facility housing approximately 40 people. I see this as a research opportunity for my Master’s thesis, I am hoping to improve a detention facility’s resource efficiency with policy changes. But that’ll be next semester.
As for now, I got two full time jobs now. If I didn’t think about apply for a position a year ago, I think id still be a student. I encourage everyone to visit a city of working potential and look for the human resources section on their website. A bunch of good jobs out there, you just have to find it!

These are the four classes that I am currently enrolled in:
(1) 515-Report Writing - Humorous teacher, no stale jokes.
(2) 517-Excel Stats - I get to sit in front of a computer to do statistical work! weeee....
(3) 570-Policy Analysis - Hmmm, arguably the most difficult class so far in my program.
(4) 577-Human Resources - The role playing interactive groups is quite fun. We get to act!
Aside from them four classes, I am still enrolled into extra stuff which is for my own benefit:
(a) Yoga 101 - .........*exhale, stretch*.......oh yeah thats great.
(b) Basketball - yeah man, I'm gonna post up some chicks in class.
(c) Associate Students Inc. - I'm gonna go back to student government...Politics baby!
As of last week, I have been working out pretty hard. Every other day I get to drag myself out and jam-out two miles. I feel better already =D.
Ill put together a list of what I have been eating for a diet. I will also outline my dietary recipes.
Gimme a day or two, I gotta paper to write.
Yeah I got a Comment!
Although I don't have much hopes for this blog to become a reader's digest, I will do my best to illustrate my life in a entertaining way for you readers to see what I experience on a regular basis. So I hope people who come in read my thoughts will enjoy what I post.

The Q-Tip
It's 2am, I am once again on Warcraft when roommate Teef knocks on my door and enters angrily saying "guess what the hell JUST happened?" not knowing what to expect, I generically asked him whats going on. "I'm downstairs, half-awake and one of Jon's frat dude has the nerve, to command me to get him a Q-tip. Like who the fuck are you in a disrespecting tone, ask me the resident of this house, to get you a goddamn Q-tip."
At this point I didn't know how to respond without laughing, things like this may seem out of line, but its also believable. Doesn't it feel just right when stranger gives you serious orders to follow? I mean, its cool that one ask, but to command in a disrespectful manner to the house resident as a guest is another matter. pissing Teef off 2am in the morning is just great entertainment. I even stepped away from the computer to hear this good story. Too bad I was the only one to witness it.

A new year and new goals.
Aside from blogging, my next dedication this year is to really (and I really mean it this time), to tone up my physical strength and health. How will I accomplish this? I don't know but, I will start with my weekly pilates and yoga classes. People may say pilates and yoga are for suckers. I beg to differ, consider it as a college course, you learn and work hard at it. At the end, instead of grades you get in shape. As with any other college course, I am one of the few guys in the class....oh how I love pilates and yoga =D
Gary is finally on the Internet map. I'm going Global with this!
